Summary: Stay was fine, small motel which has been remodelled to a no staff establishment.
Fiddly getting the key out of the key box. Not obvious how it opens and there is a very quiet beep when you push the keypad. When you get the code alright the box automatically opens (this may help you). And make sure you push the has button before AND after if this is what the code issued to you says.
Rooms have been modernised. No outlook from our room. It looked modern with some nice touches (Leaf hand soap, T2 teas), but lacked any character. A few more artworks or decorations would have been nice. Mirror in bathroom too low. Rooms on the small side. No backs on the dining chairs. Fine for 1 night. On the plus side, great park and playground with flying fox across the road, and spacious beach just beyond the park.
The pool next door at the Isla was available to use via a gate in the back garden. It is very small and was a little on the cold side.
The outdoor tables/ benches and BBQ in the back garden are great for an outdoor meal. There is a small patch of grass in this area and a few trees planted near the back fence. Would have looked better with a little interesting landscaping.
A quiet area if that’s what you are looking for. A few shops a short walk away including a fish and chip shop. Espresso garden coffee, a short walk away had great coffee and recommended for a morning visit.

Summary: The biggest issue for me was the "no reception" check in process. It took about fifteen tries to pass through the process as the system would not accept my phone number and the phone number was a required field. Finally I noticed that the 'default' field was set to Barbados for some unknown reason, the flag being very nearly invisible on the phone I was trying to register with. When I did get to the site it took about fifteen tries to get the code on the door to work.

Summary: The "seamless" no-contact check-in procedure was not seamless. We could not enter our Australian post code into the pre-registration form nor our Australian phone number. We called and they took the number over the phone and said they would send us to code to get in the room by 11:00 the day of. By 11:30, we had to call again to remind them. They were friendly, but if you're going to use contactless check-in, then you should make sure it works, and not have the customer contact you again to remind you to send the code. The room was clean and modern. The pool was TINY. We did not feel comfortable swimming in it when there was a small family there. That's how tiney it was. Overall, we feel like it was a great place to stay for the price comparable to other hotels in the area.

Summary: This hotel was originally built in either the 60s or 70s but has been refurbished lately.
The bed was comfortable.
The room is quire modern looking.
The shower screen is useless as it barely keeps any water inside the cubicle.
The towels are quite thin and small.
There's a constant noise like an air conditioner or heat pump hot water system that can be heard 24 hours/day in Unit 9. As there are no staff onsite the can't help you!!
