Summary: Kagi is a beautiful resort, with an exceptional house reef and remarkable marine life. We enjoyed the vast majority of our stay. Unfortunately, one incident was entirely out of keeping with the standard one would expect from a property positioned at this level. My wife returned to the all-you-can-eat buffet and was told by a staff member that she could only dine “one time” and was asked to leave in front of other guests. Management later apologized and confirmed that no such policy exists. This made the incident all the more difficult to understand. After we raised the matter of compensation, we were offered 20% off massages we would still have had to purchase. For a resort presenting itself as a luxury property, we found this response rather inadequate. True luxury is not simply beautiful surroundings; it is also discretion, judgment and the ability to handle mistakes properly. It is a pity, as the rest of our stay was very enjoyable and several other members of staff were genuinely exceptional.
