Island Time is a lovely air-conditioned self-catering holiday house located at beautiful Vivonne Bay on the south coast of Kangaroo Island, two hundred metres from one of Australia's most stunning beaches. The decor is modern with a bright and airy ambience. There are two bedrooms at opposite ends of the house, each featuring queen beds.
The fully equipped kitchen includes an island bench, a Westinghouse stove with ceramic cooktop and an espresso machine with ground coffee supplied. Also Scanpan cookware & cutlery and a rice cooker.
The laundry is equipped with a new LG front-loading washing machine, laundry tub, ironing board and clothes airer. A clothesline is located at the rear of the house.
Free WiFi is included, taking advantage of broadband Internet available in Vivonne Bay. Foxtel satellite TV is provided along with a widescreen TV, Blu-ray player and a Bluetooth stereo system for playing your favourite music. Plus a selection of DVD movies and music CDs.
Our bedrooms are suitable for one or two couples or a family (four people). A trundle bed can be set up on request in advance of arrival for a fifth person (eg extra child).
The house is comfortable year-round with reverse cycle air-conditioning to the open-plan living area together with a pedestal fan. Dual control electric blankets are fitted to the beds for cosy winter nights along with MiniJumbuk wool quilts. Extra pillows and blankets are available.
Our sheltered deck catches the morning sun and is a great spot for coffee and alfresco meals. There is a 3-burner gas BBQ along with a new table setting and LED lighting. A fish-cleaning sink is attached to the end of the deck.
Wildlife abounds with Tammar wallabies being frequent visitors below the deck along with brushtail possums and occasional koalas. Numerous bird species flit about in the bush surrounds including honeyeaters and superb fairywrens. Bold little striated pardalotes are prevalent in Spring & Summer and occupy nests we have made above the deck. A birdbath in the rear garden is popular with honeyeaters and wrens.
Island Time is ideally located between Kangaroo Island's major attractions, with Raptor Domain and Seal Bay lying to the east, and Kelly Hill Caves, Admiral's Arch, Remarkable Rocks and Flinders Chase National Park to the west. KI Wildlife Park, Stokes Bay and Hidden Beach lie to the north.
Local activities include swimming, surfing, kayaking, fishing from the beach and jetty, sand-boarding, quad-bike riding and walks along the pristine beach to the Harriet and Eleanor Rivers.
Local facilities include the Vivonne Bay General Store, jetty & boat ramp. Mobile phone coverage is provided by Optus and Telstra, noting the Telstra signal is weak in Vivonne Bay.
Island Time is an easy ~70 minutes drive from the ferry terminal at Penneshaw and 40 minutes from Kingscote Airport.

Summary: Island Time is a great location for peaceful beach walks as well as a pivot point for island exploration. The property is comfy and well-equipped, with the verandah providing a great viewing point for visiting wildlife.
