Positive: Very clean and comfortable beachfront apartment on the top floor of the Rocks Resort at Currumbin. Huge living area and front balcony with amazing uninterrupted beach views up and down the Gold Coast. Updated modern furniture throughout and the two bedrooms at the back (one with queen bed, the other with two single beds) both share a rear balcony. Beach is directly over the road and just a short walk from Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Vikings Surf Club, the local beachside convenience store and coffee shops, as well as a fantastic restaurant next door - Tommy's Italian. Great location not far from the Gold Coast airport, The Pines shopping centre, Tugun shops and Currumbin RSL - all within easy distance. There's a bus stop is directly in front of the resort and despite the age and size of the building, the facilities are excellent and very well maintained, especially the lush gardens throughout. A huge outdoor pool and spa out front, a shaded tennis court and BBQ area out back, as well as an indoor spa and sauna, large well-appointed gym and a nice big games room for the kids. The friendly host team at Nuve Escapes were close by and terrific to deal with - great communication, co-ordination and they couldn't do enough for us around our stay!

Negative: NO air-conditioning or ceiling fans in the unit is not ideal - especially over summer. Although two pedestal fans (one for each of the two bedrooms) were provided, these weren't enough to provide sufficient air-flow on warmer days were there was no outside breezes. Only two balcony seats and the lack of any occasional tables was unfortunate, which made it an issue for more than two people to sit outside - with nowhere to rest drinks and snacks. Some extra outside seating and a small table would have been nice. And a couple of stools to sit at the kitchen bench would also have been good. There is no electric clothes dryer in the laundry which could be an issue for longer stays - as well as the very small travel ironing board. While there is a clothes airer and pegs, an electric dryer and larger full-size ironing board would be great. While there is ample car parking spaces in the basement car park, some were quite narrow and difficult to manoeuvre in and out of.
