This is our family beach house, and when the opportunity arose, we jumped at the chance to build our sunny abode in our favourite holiday spot on the Sunshine Coast. Now, we are opening it up for guests to enjoy while we are away.
Long summer days are spent wandering from the house to the beach, down to the nearby pub, café or bar for lunch and then heading to the river mouth for the afternoon. “Any kids that we have staying with us are tired and in bed by seven o’clock”.
The house sits on an easement block, right beside the walkway that leads straight to the beach, shops and restaurants. The style is relaxed and coastal—simple, comfortable and easy to live in.
The open plan living works well because of the natural light from the high ceilings and skylights, which keep the whole space bright and airy. A lot of the interior inspiration came from trips to Indonesia, where we sourced natural stone and custom furniture to bring in a touch of laid back luxury.
Our mid toned marble floors have been a game changer—they hide muddy paws, sand and everything else. I honestly don’t know how we lived without them.
Kitchen
The kitchen is practical and family friendly, with Caesarstone benchtops and quality appliances. The double door fridge has an ice maker and water dispenser, and the whole space has a clean, balanced feel that works well for entertaining. A custom café style window opens to the alfresco area, making it easy to move between indoors and out.
Next to the kitchen is the butler’s pantry—great for prepping food or cleaning up without cluttering the main space. There’s an extra fridge in there too.
Living Room
People often say the kitchen is the heart of the home, but for us it’s the living room. It’s where we eat, relax and spend most of our time. Timber bifold doors open to the covered alfresco area, creating a central hub that’s perfect for having friends over or enjoying sunny days by the pool.
The lounge is set up with a spacious sofa, and we dress the area for the festive season.
Smart TV: with Netflix, Binge, Stan, Disney, Prime and Kayo.
Outdoors
The long timber table outside is ideal for gathering with family and friends. Evenings often end with a glass of champagne on the deck, drifting off to the sound of the ocean—and waking up to do it all again.
We’ve added a small putting green in the front yard for anyone who enjoys a bit of fun or wants to practise their short game. It’s an easy spot to unwind in the afternoons, and the kids usually love it just as much as the golfers. Whether you’re warming up before a round or just having a friendly competition, it’s a great little extra to enjoy during your stay.
Bedrooms
Each bedroom features custom furniture and floor to ceiling curtains for a proper sleep in. All beds come with quality linen and towels.

Bathrooms
The main ensuite is light filled and finished with floor to ceiling natural stone. The oversized freestanding stone bath is perfect for a quiet soak.
Media Room
We designed the house with separate spaces for kids and adults. The media room is where toys can live behind a closed door, giving kids their own zone that can grow with them over time.
For families staying with children, the room is set up with toys and games.
There’s also a Koala queen sofa bed.

The Neighbourhood
Mudjimba is a friendly, laid back coastal town known for its surf break at Old Woman Island. The beach is patrolled and far quieter than Noosa, Mooloolaba or Coolum. It’s an easy walk to Twin Waters Novatel Resort, a short drive to Maroochydore and about 90 minutes from Brisbane.

Getting Around
We’re positioned between Coolum Beach and Maroochydore—about a 10 minute drive either way. Bus stops are at the end of the walkway, roughly a one minute walk, and can take you anywhere along the coast.
