Positive: The location was fantastic, particularly how accessible it was to restaurants, express bus to La Trobe University, the train station, and nearby parks and shops. The unit was also equipped with a washing machine/dryer, utensils and crockery, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a balcony, and a living room with a TV, dining table and sofa. They provided two heaters, two fans, there were block out blinds, two air cons (only the living room and the ensuite bedroom), and linen. The MadeComfy team must have changed the key collection location based on reviews as our key pick up was at a nearby shopping mall/grocer and was easy to find. Despite these positives, there were many significant cleanliness issues with this unit, which is a shame.

Negative: The MadeComfy team is not responsive and does not assist with any issues. The unit was not cleaned properly - see details below. Other cons: they only provide one set of keys, which can be inconvenient. The intercom in the unit is not working so someone below cannot buzz up to the unit, but we managed to work around this. The unit layout was not clearly described in the listing: only one bedroom is ensuite, the other bathroom is next to the living room so the other roomie has to walk past the ensuite bedroom to access the bathroom. The sink in the ensuite room has a blocked sink so the water goes down very slowly, and sometimes not at all (see photo). This drain needs to be cleared ASAP, which I could see was a feedback left before. Cleanliness was terrible overall: There was leftover opened chips and biscuits in the bedroom drawer, a thick layer of dust on the headboard, drawers, and on top of the air con. There were dustballs on the shower exhaust fan, and grime on the shower floor and corners. I am allergic to dustmites and my scalp developed sores from the bedroom headboard due to the dust despite trying to wipe it clean on the first night. I reached out multiple times to the MadeComfy team and Booking.com regarding these cleanliness issues from day one and they just provided a copy and paste template that someone will "follow up". No such thing has occurred. Unless they make significant improvements to their customer service and cleanliness standards, I do not recommend MadeComfy managed residences and I will also not stay with them again.
