Positive: Back for my annual week-long pilgrimage to Kalimna Holiday House and I am happy to report it is still a gem. It is the perfect place to bring your fur baby, relax, and soak in that unbeatable Lakes Entrance view. It is only a quick five-minute drive into town if you need supplies, coffee, or a cheeky bakery run. The house has had some welcome upgrades since my last visit. The new front-loader washing machine is great, though a washing basket would make carrying everything out a little easier, especially since there is no dryer. The old-world seaside charm is still warm and inviting, and the place is very neat and clean. The neighbours are friendly, and the nights are wonderfully peaceful.The fresh paint and updated appliances are a nice improvement and show that the owners are continuing to maintain the property.

Negative: The mattresses, however, are due for replacement, as the current foam ones offer very little support.A quick word of caution for rainy days. My 4WD with raised suspension was a lifesaver, as the driveway turns into a muddy bog after heavy rain and is starting to feel like a genuine 4WD track. Anyone in a normal sedan would struggle to get in or out. Adding more sand or raising the driveway would help prevent future guests from getting stuck or risking car damage.A dishwasher would also be a very welcome addition in the future.

Summary: All in all, it was a peaceful, charming stay that feels far more like your own holiday house
