Positive: Kayana was a wonderful host and great communicator. She had a welcome basket of goodies that we gobbled down. The apartment was attached to her ancestral home and was quiet with a pretty view of hills and ocean in the distance. Each room was very spacious with huge closets. Each had a comfortable bed and lovely air conditioning. Avis emailed me the day before we arrived that they had no cars available for my reservation - and Kayana wonderfully arranged for a car to be delivered to her door. You definitely need a car since this is in a residential area, about 20 minutes from the airport and from the capital where most of the action (and groceries) is. When we were there, the road to the airport was sometimes closed, but that should change. Kayana has good internet and streaming for easy use. The kitchen was big and well-equipped. Kayana was lovely and answered all our questions and gave us suggestions of places to visit. She even took us around the local area a bit, showing us local attractions and history. We LOVED driving around Tortola on our own and at our own pace. And it was lovely to return to a home rather than a hotel room!

Negative: The home was quite dark, but likely kept that way because the temperatures could soar. The propane tank emptied so that we didn't have a way to cook our food, but we thought we were doing something wrong and didn't ask Kayana in time for that to be fixed. We are contacting Kayana to help us get our $500 deposit back from the car company for our $200 rental. Obviously, not her fault, but distressing with no response from BVI Reliable Rentals. At the time we booked, all the taxes were not shown which was Booking.com's fault. The total was a surprise as it was over $100 more. A communication with Booking was not responded to. This had nothing to do with the host.
