Nestled in the heart of Queenscliff, this immaculate, dog-friendly home is conveniently located just a 2-minute walk to the local cafe, a 3-minute stroll to the Swan Bay walking and bike tracks leading to Point Lonsdale, and a 5-minute walk to both the beach and the Hesse St town center.
The front of the house showcases a charming 19th-century cottage that has been beautifully renovated and expanded, resulting in a cozy, light-filled home. Boasting modern amenities including central hydronic heating, a wood fire heater (wood not provided), and a reverse-cycle air conditioner.
Galway Cottage features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
The main bedroom, situated at the rear of the house, is carpeted and features a king bed, TV, ceiling fan, and French doors opening onto the back deck and yard. It also includes a luxurious ensuite with a rain head shower.
The second bedroom, also carpeted, offers a queen bed and ceiling fan, while the third bedroom has timber floors, a rug, and a set of single bunk beds suitable for children.
The second bathroom features a deep bath, shower, vanity, heated towel rails, and a separate toilet.
Perfect for two smaller families or two couples, this cottage boasts two living areas. The front living area, located in the original part of the house, features a cozy window seat, a new wood burner, and a breakfast table leading to the open galley kitchen equipped with a gas cooker, electric oven, dishwasher, and microwave. The rear living area, with feature glass sliding doors on both sides, opens onto the spacious back deck and large garden with numerous fruit trees. This area includes a large flat screen Smart TV, air conditioning, and a dining table seating 8. Additionally, the house offers a large laundry with a front loader washing machine and dryer, perfect for cleaning beach or outdoor gear. The outdoor deck provides a great space for BBQs, complete with an outdoor dining suite and fire pit for cooler evenings. The expansive lawn with fruit trees is ideal for relaxation and play. The property features a children’s cubby house and clothesline at the rear, making it a fantastic family or couples’ retreat in all seasons, with amenities including a wood burner, hydronic heating, air conditioning, outdoor shower, and quality finishes.
A starter pack of wood is provided, and guests can source their own if needed for the duration of their stay.
The property is within walking distance to the train station, cafes, shops, main street, churches, tennis and bowling clubs, as well as the beach, yacht club, and the Swan Bay bike and walking path.
