Positive: We stayed only one night on our way from Brisbane to Sydney. The room was a reasonable size for a family room with two queen beds. The space between the foot of the bed and wall was just sufficient space to walk I would say. We packed a soft bag to bring in and didn't take in our suitcases which were in the car, so that helped a lot in terms of space. If we were to bring in those two large suitcases (28" diagonal), and lay them on the floor open (as we like to do), there would be hardly any walking space anywhere in the room. Otherwise a pretty standard but rather old-fashioned or some may say outdated room. We were happy with the cleanliness, and the toilet was a good size, didn't feel cramped with ample tabletop space for all our toiletries.

Negative: The room was very dimly lit. We had Room 10. There's no ceiling light above the beds. The only lights in that part of the room are the bed top lights. We didn't switch them on as they were within reach of our young children. Not very safe actually. And the most significant issue was that along the perimeter of the carpet which the beds sat on, there was a row of pins (presumably to keep the carpet pinned to the floor) sticking out through the pile. I stepped on them on more than one occasion and finally had enough of the pain. I had to use the room key and something heavy to knock in those pins (sharp ends pointing right up) to bend the ends so that they did not protrude. As we stayed only one night and left before the office open, we didn't report it directly. But if the hotel management is reading this, please fix this in all your rooms.
