Summary: What a wonderful place! I have always wanted to go to Thailand but was worried that I had missed the opportunity to see it whilst still laid back, low key and beautiful. I was wrong. To start with, Bodo was a very responsive host who put me at ease arranging our transfer from the ferry and answering queries I had before our stay. Sitting on our balcony, looking at the gorgeous view, listening to the birds and frogs without loads of tourists was heaven. The house we stayed in was immaculate and well equipped with regular bed and towel changes. The bedrooms had air conditioning and the living area had fans. It felt very private although we could see the terrace of another house on the far side of the pool. The pool was clean, beautiful and we usually had it to ourselves. We swam loads as a result. The garden was stunning and Mrs Eed and her husband spent a lot of time maintaining it. As for Mrs Eed, she was just brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and she went out of her way to make life easy for us, doing laundry, sorting out excursions for us and providing supplies as needed. Mr Eed was a great cook and we had several delicious meals on our terrace after a long day on the beach/ sea. As for the beach and village, they are a short walk away (5-10 mins) down a very steep road. We managed it with relative ease but it might be tough for a young child/ unfit older person but I believe Mrs Eed will do transfers. The beach is truly stunning and not packed like some other places. There are several resorts on the beach nearest the Hill Village but the beach is easily accessible with some fab beach bars and restaurants. The village is low key but it is packed with small shops, a couple of tour agencies, three small food shops, two pharmacies and a wide choice of restaurants/bars. We had a fantastic, chilled out family holiday and my boys (10 and 12) absolutely loved it. Thank you.
